The coming madness (or clarity)
Lines written after seeing the Polar Bear
It began with a thought ‘the madness is coming’. The madness is coming and there is nothing to stop it. There is no cure for clarity.

The helicopter circles. The Polar Bear, sensing danger, bolts across the snow. The researcher shoots tranquiliser into the bear and lands. Lying prostrate in the frozen northern wasteland the bear cannot comprehend the scientists who take blood samples, put a tracking collar around its neck, weigh and measure it. Understanding is confined to the bear’s limited consciousness.
We inhabit the same space as the Polar Bear. Exist in the same timeframe, across the same earth, but we are worlds apart. What leap would the bear have to make to understand that day’s events?

Scientists have, in recent decades, discovered the existence of Dark Matter. Over 80% of the universe is made of a substance that we can’t see, touch, taste, smell, hear or measure. Dark Matter is a mystery.
Unless you read fairy stories, hear old wives’ tales or have journeyed to the Underworld. The universe is not devoid of a sense of humour. Storytellers and Shaman have known the truth for millennia, and our efforts to prove them wrong - have brought us full circle.
When the thin veil separating the truth from our reality is lifted, there will be nowhere to hide from the coming clarity (or madness).
This is the DRKMTR project.
DRKMTR…
…an experiment with music, art and poetry is the brainchild of 3 north Wales artists.
Musician and Producer, Steve Nicholls, Poet, Sophie McKeand and Artist, Andy Garside, are collaborating on this project. Fusing poems of the earth with digitally created sounds and performing them with VJ projections the live shows are not to be missed.
The album DRKMTR is due for release 24th January 2012 on the dRUM wITH oUR hANDS label.
